We’re not so different, you and I… I, too, am a stalker.

For those who are still reading: I’m Kiko [Martínez].
As an agency Chief Creative Gladiator, I’m tasked with fighting off bad ideas and sloth colleagues who hug the coffee machine. I’m also responsible for helping brands find their sweet spot and conquer their creative fears. In my leisure, I fancy some delightful time to make memes out of grandma. Before you judge, know that it helps my creative process and it’s often billable. Who’s laughing now?
Other delightful hobbies…
• Play tennis → Get blisters → Lie that I was benching 235lbs → Cry in the shower.
• Eating at 3-star Yelp locations. Any more, and you're over budget. Any less, and you'll be fighting a tapeworm. #AllAboutTheSweetSpot
• Going out of my way to pet a dog. This includes coyotes. This excludes hyenas.
• Deconstructing ads and presenting the insight to my wife, who “doesn’t care” but deep down I know she’s, like, super impressed and thinks that I’m a total Einstein.
Did I mention I’m a go-getter? I challenged myself to match Uganda’s external debt. I succeeded:
Miami Ad School \ Creative Advertising, Copywriting.
Florida International University \ MBA, Leadership and Entrepreneurship.
Florida International University \ BBA, Marketing and International Business.

Creative Excellence: in-house.
Most in-house creative teams are stuck taking orders. Briefs in, work out, repeat, until the team’s creativity calcifies and their motivation drops. Lightning Rod is the methodology I built at OLIVER, first on the 3M global account and then adopted across other accounts, to turn reactive teams into proactive ones. It’s a system to spot opportunities and pitch unprompted in an industry that moves faster every quarter. The result is a team that thinks like a partner, not a vendor. A team whose creative power is unleashed with high voltage.
